Refošk – Boškarin was picked in 2017 in the start of October in the sunny southwestern position, near the village of Manžan. It was an exceptional harvest for our refošk, so we left it on the plant until was maturing. Among the hand-picked grape, they were already dried, full of extracts. With spontaneous fermentation and uncontrolled temperature, it was macerated for almost a month. After a slight distress, it was piled in an inox container, where he was on small branches until summer 2019, with no added sulfur. The wine is still alive and obviously so full and extraordinary that we decided to bottle it a bit, and a piece of it was piled to have a rest in wooden barrels. Type of soil; estimated flysch with marl and sandstone wine adds minerality and after its perfection in wooden used casks its maturation potential will be from 10-15 years. His color is ruby red with purple shades, we can say black. The smell is intense, ripened fruit, blueberries, cherries, dried plums, blackberries, white pepper, chocolate, vanilla. The taste is rich, structural, noble tannins, herbal spicyness. The alcohol level is slightly higher. Serving temperature: 14 – 16 degrees.
