Inspiring little story

  • by

We are continuing at full steam even in the current situation, of course taking all instructions and regulations into account. Even before the crisis itself, a culinary club was operating in our residence in Ljubljana. //pri-meni.com At 'Pri Meni', which is essentially a platform through which we present our farm's products and produce, there's a space where we've organised a multitude of educational tastings. This space has also served as our point of connection with other chefs, producers, and suppliers, all of course seasoned with music, exhibitions, and other artistic mediums. In short, a gastronomic tourism project has been established, which in the current situation is the only viable and sustainable model for offering within the gastronomic sector.
The turn of events was, understandably, rapid and we also had to adapt. The online portal of the Slovenian Tourist Board also describes this as an excellent example of an inspiring little story. //www.slovenia.info/en/press-room/we-share-inspiring-stories?fbclid=IwAR1CZDvZevHASt-Xcq-0-_7RkwmRUylCwbz1NRbUqbrmGJtS3cqNYlmV7Q0 We are improving our short stories day by day.

The space in Ljubljana that we had for boutique gatherings has thus become a safe, contactless point where our old and new customers collect packages with products and produce from our farm. The situation is all the more practical, as the height of the window onto the street is just right, making us all feel safe with all the measures in place.
Due to the well-known situation, Pri Meni culinary club is currently a contactless intermediary for products from our Domačija Butul. The project we started two years ago for pleasure and fun, under the name ‘Underground bakery’, has been revived out of necessity. We strive to bring you what comforts us or even helps us get through these lockdown times from the Istrian region. //www.facebook.com/kmetijabutul/posts/124612962518360

We won't lie. Being in nature and working with it has become a privilege, as it hasn't been for a long time. I cannot access the content of external websites, including Facebook posts, so I'm unable to translate it for you. With respect to the latter, it would certainly be more prepared for the given situation at this moment, but humanity has strayed into a partly to mostly cloudy story. “I believe we are capable of overcoming a damn virus, so I am not worried. I also believe that we have all understood how vulnerable we are if we don't know how to connect and support each other at crucial moments. This time we are proving again that we are strong with others, and stronger among ourselves. The farm is thus becoming the core of gastronomy, which is what we have always advocated,” argues Črt, who will also be a guest on April 30th on the topic “What have we Slovenians learned in corona quarantine” – an online platform, or webinar. The event is a book launch for "The Heart Collective" by Chloe Jackson on Friday, May 30th, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at The Bookworm Cafe in Whitby. There will be a reading by the author, a Q&A session, and book signings. Light refreshments will be served.

We have also launched a similar model in Berlin over the last 14 days, we are also setting one up in Singapore, Switzerland and the Czech Republic, and we are also participating in Austria, in short, wherever we are present with our products and consultations. Italy, where we also have connected projects, is currently unfortunately on hold, but we are in regular contact with our partners.
