Pupa 2025: playful wine with a serious Istrian character

Pupa 2025 I am a dry white macerated wine that combines the floral playfulness of Yellow Muscat with the freshness and structure of Istrian Malvasia.

It is made from equal parts Istrian Malvasia and Yellow Muscat from the Parovel and Valeta vineyards. The grapes were in contact with the skins for five days. The short maceration has added texture and character to the wine without overwhelming its aromatic, juicy nature.

Pupa is a completely dry wine with no residual sugar. However, due to its distinctive aromatics and ripe fruity expression, it appears soft, rounded, and very drinkable.

In a glass

• Colour light golden yellow with gentle warm hues.
• Smell Muscat floral aromas, white flowers, ripe yellow fruit, grapes and delicate herbal notes.
• Taste Grape, full of life and beautifully textured. Muscat brings the aromatics, while Malvasia provides freshness, structure, and a longer finish.
• Conclusion: Clean, aromatic and pleasantly dry, with a delicate fruity and herbaceous echo.

At the restaurant

Pupa is particularly well-suited to dishes with a fresh Mediterranean character:

• Grilled and smoked fish,
• with rosemary, fennel, sage, and other distinctive herbs,
• roasted or grilled vegetables,
• to herbal risottos and pastas,
• young and medium-aged cheese.

Serving

For a fresher and more vibrant look, serve it with 8–10 °C. At around 11–13 °C, additional floral, fruity and herbaceous layers will open up in a larger glass. Decanting is not necessary; you can simply open the bottle for a few minutes before drinking.
