The grapes come from Manzan, from a vineyard above the Bay of Koper, where Mediterranean freshness meets Istrian soil and the Bura wind. The harvest took place on 22nd September 2016, when the grapes were at full ripeness.<\/p>\n<h3>The Tale of the Forgotten Cask<\/h3>\n<p>The initial plan was for a shorter maceration, but the barrel remained in the cellar for longer. The extended contact and development of the flor yeasts have given the wine a distinct oxidative character, reminiscent of more mature wine styles with a nutty, almost Marsala-like note.<\/p>\n<h3>In a glass<\/h3>\n<p>The aromas and taste are a blend of almonds, ripe pear, dried apple, dried fruit, and a slight saltiness.
